They’re notoriously tricky to find Christmas gifts for, aren’t they? I know I’m not the only one who is frequently stumped when it comes to finding the right gifts for my husband!

When the holiday season is in full swing, things can get pretty hectic. We have so many things to coordinate, and sometimes Christmas morning can sneak up on us!

Finding the perfect stocking stuffer for your husband can seem like an impossibility, but let’s talk about a few ways we can find some great gifts for our man.

Stocking stuffers are basically just small gifts. Does your husband “need” stocking stuffers? That’s the best place to start.

Make sure you actually need to be putting this on your to-do list! You and your husband should discuss beforehand what gifts you want to give to each other. If (like me) you’re a Christmas enthusiast and want to embrace the opportunity to bless your husband, then I have a few ideas.

Think about the things you admire about your husband.

This is a really sweet place to begin, because the message will come through as a compliment and encouragement for him.

If you love the way he leads the family in devotions, maybe you could get him a personalized bookmark for his Bible. A new prayer journal could be really sweet for him as well.

If you admire how he takes good care of his body, then perhaps some gym towels or ankle weights would be a good fit.

Do you admire his work ethic?

If he’s a good provider, then maybe theres something you could get him for work. Something that he can see every day that will remind him of how you are proud of him. (Don’t forget to TELL him you’re proud of him!)

Best stocking stuffers for husbands that are CONSUMABLE.

Consumable gifts are always a great idea! As a minimalist (How can minimalism change your life?) consumable gifts are my favorite.

Most people love receiving consumable gifts!

This can include anything your husband likes to CONSUME. Does he love hot sauce? Does he commonly munch on jerky? Is he obsessed with black pepper?

You can find fun variety packs of just about anything these days. An artisan collection of jerky sticks would be a nice treat that he would be sure to enjoy!

Is he a tea drinker? A couple years ago I got a “to-go” tea mug for my husband to have at work, and he enjoyed it for many years.

Does he enjoy a stout beer on occasion?

If you decide to gift him with a craft bottle of beer, make sure you include the bottle opener!

Consumable gifts aren’t just food items. Consumable can also mean anything that gets USED UP, such as personal hygiene products.

You could find a few small items for his personal hygiene care.

You could complete the gift with a personalized travel case for his new products, it would be great! (Personalization will be an additional cost, but personalized gifts are often perceived as a more thoughtful gift.)

Does he have facial hair? This… is a whole deal for some men. If that’s your husband, then some facial hair care items would be very eagerly received.

What are things he uses daily?

Sometimes it can be a really sweet notion to replace something he uses all the time that can be upgraded or replaced.

*Beware! Some people get really attached to certain items and do NOT want to get rid of their old crusty to-go coffee mug. I learned this the hard way…

Other daily use items could include: wallet, keys (keychain), sunglasses, apple watch, coffee mug, gym bag, lunch box, pen, etc.

Does he commonly have a problem losing something?

If your husband is always losing his phone chargers, then perhaps a few portable chargers would be really helpful for him. If he loses his keys every day, then you could get him something for his keys (a homemade clay dish to keep keys in or a special hook hung in a convenient spot).

Think about any ways you could make his life smoother or more beautiful.

What does he enjoy in his free time?

Let’s think about the things your husband loves to do when he has a spare hour or two.

Is he a golfer? A new pack of golf balls and tees would be a great stocking stuffer gift.

Does he love to hunt? Some practical gifts for hunting could include: a new buck knife, new blaze orange hat, or hand warmers for those cold winter morning hunts.

Is he a grill master? Some spice mixtures or a new heavy duty tongs would definitely get him excited! *BONUS! You get to be the taste-tester!

If he enjoys tinkering with(I mean fixing) things, you could find him some smaller useful tools for his collection.

(Sigh…) This can get REALLY expensive when you’re in the tool realm, but just think about anything on the smaller end of the spectrum and go from there.

A new collection of nuts and bolts, or a couple rolls of duct tape could be a great addition to pretty much any man’s garage.

For the book lovers, you could find some personalized magnetic book marks or a new case for his reading glasses. If he has a special place he enjoys his reading time, you could find something to decorate his spot.

And lastly, but not leastly…

A gift card.

Now, hold on. If you feel like getting your husband a gift card for a stocking stuffer is a bit silly, let’s think about it for a moment.

If you gave him cash, he would likely spend it on something else for the family and not on himself. A gift card is a great way to stay at exactly the price point you’ve decided on without going over budget, and he can use it on something that may not fit inside the average man’s stocking!

The possibilities are truly endless. You could give him a gift card for a massage. You could gift him with some movie tickets for you to enjoy a date night together (Not exactly a gift card, per se…but kinda.)

A gift card in the stocking that he can use towards a different item on his list would be a fun gift idea as well.

Gift cards will give him an opportunity to spend some time browsing for something he may want to pick out himself.

If you’re anything like me, you don’t really know what the best stainless steel whiskey stones would be. Maybe he would enjoy picking them out himself.

My advice: if you do give your husband a gift card, make a date out of the shopping endeavor for the two of you!

Find a babysitter, grab lunch and enjoy an afternoon together after the hustle and bustle of Christmas has passed.

Sometimes the best gifts are the gifts of quality time.

Finding fun stocking stuffer ideas can feel a little ambiguous, but don’t worry!

By simply thinking through a few categories, you will be sure to find the best options for your husband.

Just a few little gifts from the heart to imbue a good laugh or a heartfelt hug.

These will be some of his favorite stocking stuffers! Merry Christmas!
